FRANKFURT – The Scuderi Group, developers of what is expected to be the world’s most fuel efficient internal combustion engine – The Scuderi Air-Hybrid Engine – has selected Cohn & Wolfe, a leading global public relations agency, as agency of record to handle its public relations initiatives in Germany and France.

The Scuderi Air-Hybrid-Engine is currently in its last stages of development at an independent laboratory, with the first gasoline prototype expected to be completed by the end of the year. The engine is expected to post historical gains in fuel efficiency as well as produce up to 80 percent less toxic emissions than all the conventional and hybrid vehicles on the road today. Earlier this year, the engine won the prestigious Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award for its promising engine design. The Scuderi Group is headquartered in West Springfield, Mass., USA, with offices in Frankfurt.

Cohn & Wolfe will assist the Scuderi Group in building recognition of the engine’s design and potential, as well as the company, to automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the investment and business communities in Germany and France. Cohn & Wolfe will partner with Topaz Partners, a Woburn, Mass.-based PR firm that has directed the PR program for the past three years and will continue to handle the U.S account.

“The European region’s concern about automotive emissions and the need for a simple and more cost-effective solution provides the Scuderi Group with a very timely and important backdrop to engage the public about this historical innovation,” says Lutz Deyerling, Scuderi Group’s vice president of European operations. “Based on their experience and knowledge of the automotive industry, Cohn & Wolfe will provide us with the communications muscle we need to get our message out.”

“Scuderi is a highly innovative company with technology that promises to play a big role in how the world conserves energy and reduces emissions. They are a standard-bearer in engine development. We are very pleased to support this innovative product and company,” says Christiane Dirkes, Managing Director of Cohn & Wolfe Germany.
